About Our Service

Gemm Learning provides computer-based reading and learning services to students working from home throughout US and Canada. We monitor your progress at home through daily Internet uploads, we keep in touch by phone and email and send weekly reports that measure progress.

The main elements of our service are :

1. Online Assessment

We'll start with an online assessment to pinpoint your child's reading and learning strengths and weaknesses. We will ask you also to complete an online Behavioral Survey about your child.

2. Individualized Protocol

Next, your dedicated Program Manager will customize a learning plan based on those assessment and survey results. Our programs are adaptive. They quickly isolate and exercise the learning skills requiring help in a fun and interactive way to keep your child engaged.

3. Measurable Progress

We'll keep you up to date on your child's progress every step of the way with weekly progress reports. Each week you'll be able to see what skills your child has mastered, what's difficult and what's in progress.

4. Dedicated Support Network

You will have a dedicated professional monitoring progress, making suggestions and available to answer your questions. We also have a sophisticated online support website for parents at www.mygemm.com.

Our program is for K-12 children and adults. Students are with us for 2-8 months, working at least 30 minutes a day, 4-5 days a week, depending on their academic starting point and their goals.

Our primary cognitive programs are Fast ForWord software -- for reading, auditory processing and language based learning issues, and the BrainWare Safari program for focus, organization, visual processing and retention issues.
Getting Started

Two Step Course Progression:

First, build a secure cognitive foundation

Your first program gets right to work on the cognitive issues impeding your child's progress.   Most often students start with Fast ForWord Language v2 or Literacy, a powerful adaptive program that identifies and exercises cognitive weaknesses.

Next, learn to think while reading

Once the underlying cognitive skills have been strengthened, most students turn their attention to our reading programs. The early programs in this series work on reading fluency and spelling, middle programs build reading comprehension, while the later programs work on higher level critical reading and thinking skills. All reading programs help the student develop the critical skill of constantly thinking while reading.
