Our students primarily work on our comprehensive Test Prep Skills and Daily Questions test prep service at home.

Sessions in Center

For local students seeking CT or NY test prep services however, Gemm Learning runs weekly strategy sessions at its centers in Scarsdale, NY and Greenwich, CT run by experienced SAT tutors, in partnership with Wilson Prep and Laura Wilson who has written numerous books on test preparation.

We also run regular SAT tutor run practice tests in center.

The next sessions will run each weekend, starting in January, 2010 under the following subject titles:

Reading Strategies
Students will be taught effective reading strategies.  Finding key words, isolating sentences and focusing on the main ideas are just a few of the strategies that will be taught. 

Grammar Strategies
This session reviews the four keys to grammar success.   The SAT grammar sections revolve around patterns, and this session will focus on learning these patterns.

Essays Strategies
Learn how to go to the test with a pre-written essay.  Have three historical moments prepared and other common elements of an essay already planned out.  This session will also review the 15 most common essay questions.

Math Strategies
This session covers how to avoid SAT math traps.  The session teaches shorthand strategies for tackling the math questions, such as plugging in an answer and working backwards.

SAT Practice Tests
This is a 2½ hour session, where we offer a PSAT and a 25 minutes essay.  A few days later, students will receive their scores and an analysis that will isolate problem areas, opportunities to improve.

Our ACT and SAT test prep course can be subscribed to by phone or by coming into a center. The best way to get started is to tell us a little about your child by completing an Online Screening. We will call with a recommendation within 24 hours.
