How To Get Started
If you are looking to pay online, go to our PayPal page here.
Step 1: A Phone Consult
Our program is not appropriate in every case. And so our starting point is a phone consult*, where we are most often able to ascertain whether we can help with 10-15 minutes of questions.
Request a consult or ask a question
* Consults are available Monday to Friday, 9AM to 9PM, and after hours by appointment.
Step 2: Enrollment
Getting started with Gemm Learning is easy:
We take your details over the phone, as part of the consult, on your child, your protocol length preferences, etc.
Choose your payment option. Most clients go with a prepay package because it's the best deal, but other time periods and installment plans are available.
Choose a start date. Your prepay starts from that date -- either right away or at some future date.
We send your unique username and log in details. You are all set!
The First Few Days
You set your own start date, most often within a day or two. Here are the steps:
A welcome consult. A Gemm Learning educator will call to introduce themselves, learn more about your goals and to answer your questions.
Log in online. If you need the software on your computer we will send a download link and help you get set up.
Assessment & Questionnaire. Most students complete an online assessment to start to help our future protocol planning and to set a baseline. We ask parents also to complete an online Behavioral Survey to be sure we understand your child.
Work begins. The routine is 30 or 50 minutes a day, working on assigned exercises each day, for five days a week. We will send a Program Plan, once we have had a chance to monitor your child's progress for a few days. Your child will be signed up for Gemm City membership, our rewards website, and you will be supported by weekly progress reports and regular check ins from your Gemm professional.
More on online learning center service
For most students, our program involves two steps: first a cognitive program to build the underlying skills required for reading and learning. Then, a reading block where we help students develop fluency and comprehension skills.
