Step 1: A Phone Consult - Find Out If We Can Help

Our program works at a fundamental level on a range of learning and reading issues, but it is not appropriate in every case. And so our starting point is a phone consult, where we are most often able to ascertain whether we can help with 10-15 minutes of questions.

If you need to talk outside our regular hours -- 9AM to 6PM ET, Monday to Friday, complete this consult request to schedule a call outside these hours.

Step 2: Enrollment -- How It Works

You set your own start date, most often within a day or two. Here are the steps:

• Log in online. We send log in details and support materials that explain each exercise. If you need the software on your computer we will send a download link and help you get set up.

• A welcome consult. A Gemm Learning educator will call to introduce themselves, learn more about your goals and to answer your questions.

• Assessment. Most students complete an online assessment to start to help our future protocol planning and to set a baseline. You will also complete an online Behavioral Survey to be sure we understand your unique needs and goals. Furthermore, our program is adaptive and diagnostic, meaning that as it finds your child's level it will also tell us most of what we need know about your child's learning skills in the first few sessions.

• Work begins. We develop an individualized Program Plan that your child will then work on five days a week. Your child will be signed up for Gemm City membership, our rewards website, and you will be supported by weekly progress reports and regular check ins from your Gemm professional.

For most students, our program involves two steps: first a cognitive program to build the underlying skills required for reading and learning. Then, a reading block where we help students develop fluency and comprehension skills.
