Fast ForWord Software Demo

The patented processed sound technology slows the sounds of English to speeds that children with processing and reading issues can comfortably handle. It is also somewhat distorted to promote accurate listening skills.

These exercises are deceptively simple. In reality they are extremely sophisticated, providing for intense interaction, adding speed and complexity at each student's own pace, with intensity that leads to much higher levels of cognitive ability in a relatively short period of time.

This page has a demo of Fast ForWord Language v2 for elementary age children K-5. For middle school and older click here for Fast ForWord Literacy

Below the demo screen is an explanation of how each individual exercise helps learning. Click on an exercise icon, click "early level" or "late level" and a short demo will run.

Description of Fast ForWord Language v2 Exercises

Fast ForWord Language v2 helps make learning and reading easier by removing the cognitive impediments. These most often involve processing, memory, attention and sequencing. The program helps these skills function efficiently at natural language speed.

Sky Gym works auditory processing speed and sequencing skills.  The student clicks up and down arrows to match sounds he hears.  The sounds get shorter and closer together, forcing the brain to work faster, eventually reaching natural language speed processing.

Hoop Nut builds sound discrimination skills, first slowly, gradually building up to natural language speed.

Moon Ranch works on impulsively and sustained attention.  The idea is to improve listening accuracy, building the ability to hear the separate fragments of sound inside words more clearly, so that reading by decoding makes more sense.

Whalien Match uses a matching sound memory game to build working memory and phonemic awareness.

Space Commander works on following directions and working memory using progressively more complex multi-step directions, read at faster speeds.

Ele-bot builds working memory, vocabulary and language conventions by matching one of four similar pictures to a sentence read out loud.  The sentences are progressively read faster and are more complex.

Robo-Dog works on phonological awareness by comparing like sounding words, at first slowly, gradually building to natural language speed.

All exercises  work on attention skills.  Because the program is adaptive, most students complete 1-2 or more exercises in just a few days, leaving them then to work on the skills that will help them the most.
