How Our Service Works

Until recently, autism programs like Fast ForWord were only available in clinicians' offices. In the last five years however, Gemm Learning has been offering its "virtual learning center" approach.

No Parent Training Required

Our autism homeschooling program puts software on your computer, then uses your daily Internet uploads to monitor and manage protocols. As a parent, your role is to be a cheerleader -- create a schedule for your child and encourage participation. Gemm Learning does everything else.

Students Work At Their Own Pace

Fast ForWord is adaptive. It responds to every click -- correct answers will lead to slightly faster or more complex tasks, while three consecutive wrong answers will slow the program down. This means you need not worry about your child experiencing frustration from the material being too difficult.

BrainWare Safari and Autism

The developers of BrainWare Safari have been working with schools and associations with autistic students lately. Results have been mixed, mainly because about half of the children tested were unable to get to the higher levels of BrainWare Safari where most of the changes occur. However, where a child has been able to "access" these higher levels, solid gains have been achieved.

BrainWare Safari has an integrative philosophy, meaning it improves individual skills and at the same time integrates that higher skill level into overall learning effectiveness. This addresses a primary weakness in most students with ASD making it an interesting program when homeschooling autistic children.
