We build the cognitive skills required to help improve study skills so that your child will work on homework independently.   This learning help will enable better focus in class, better test taking and of course, better grades.   By changing how your child learns in a fundamental way, we can help set your child up for lifelong academic success.

Improve Language Skills

We use Fast ForWord software to provide help for speech delays in children to boost speech and language skills such as vocabulary, articulation, talkativeness and the ability to follow multi-step directions.  In older children these issues morph into attention deficit problems and working memory issues  Our program targets these language based issues by improving auditory processing.

Gemm's Approach

We primarily use the Fast ForWord program along with a remote tutoring program to build fundamental language processing skills which sets a foundation for a more efficient and effective learning style.

Language & Learning Issues We Address

We provide learning help for these issues, amongst others:

• Expressive Language. This might be speech delays in children, limited vocabulary, poor articulation, weak conversational skills or an older child with weak vocabulary or comprehension.
  
  
• Receptive Language, i.e., difficulties following multi-step instructions or inability to engage in class.
  
  
• Retention, working memory -- the ability to retain teacher or parent instruction and/or hold what is read.
  
  
• Focus, attention deficits -- the ability to stay engaged in class, to study independently or while reading.
  
  
• Auditory processing -- the ability to process (hear and understand) language at natural language speed. If a child cannot do this, and many cannot, the world is coming at them too fast leading to avoidance behavior and a lot of missed opportunities to learn.
