For Class of 2006-7, early gains get even better over time
We are accustomed to success stories, but the updates coming in lately about our early students are raising the bar on our already high expectations.
Why Gains Continue
Scientists postulate that the neurological changes from our primary program, Fast ForWord, should start a chain reaction of progress. This is because it removes glitches that impede growth of higher level skills, creating the potential for continuing gains.
For some of our students, the gains start right away, for others it takes longer, even into the next school year. But a common theme has been that once gains start, the momentum continues. Our students are going from strength to strength and as time goes by, more and more Gemm students are experiencing this enduring growth.
Here is some feedback about children who were with us in the 2006/07 school year*:
"He's off the charts now at school, doing all kinds of extra work." Parent of 3rd grader
"He is doing honors classes and scoring consistently in the 90s." Parent of 6th grader
"He is on the Honors List now in almost all subjects." Parent of 6th grader
"She tested in the 97th percentile in a private school entrance exam in reading comprehension, in reading!" Parent of 7th grader
"His appetite for reading is hard to imagine. He is devouring dense, impossibly difficult books. This from a child who two years ago would not even read a menu!" Parent of 5th grader
"It has all come together for her at school this year. She is doing wonderfully and all that homework aggravation seems so distant now." Parent of 8th grader
"After that huge SAT point gain he got from your program, he is now going from strength to strength at college." Parent of college sophomore
We could go on -- we have lots of these -- but it gets repetitive. We love that we have been able to impact lives in this way. Plus it gives us even more confidence that for so many children our program really can be the first step to a whole new academic experience.
* Note, results vary as each child is unique. Also note, most of these students stayed with us for 4-6 months, beyond what the scientists stipulate as the minimum required for success.
