Reading Difficulties

Slow or labored reading? Weak reading comprehension? Reading resistance? Gemm Learning takes a two step approach. First, we treat the underlying causes of reading difficulty, and then we fill in individual reading skill gaps.

For younger readers our goal is fluency and a strong reading foundation that will ensure sound progress in later grades. For older students and adults, our primary goals are to make reading efficient -- easier and less exhausting -- and to build reading comprehension with metacognition, the ability to understand and think critically while reading.
