Gemm Students Support New Zealand Red Cross

Gemm Learning Matches Gemm City Student Donations

March 16, 2011Gemm Learning has announced it will match donations made by its students to the New Zealand Red Cross through Gemm’s student incentives website, Gemm City

The New Zealand Red Cross was founded in 1914 and is the main focal point for providing disaster relief in Christchurch, the location of a devastating earthquake last month.

“Gemm City already has a number of great ways for students to give back” said Gemm Learning founder, Geoff Nixon, “but we are particularly interested in focusing student attention on this cause right now and so decided to emphasize it.  Students are being encouraged to use part of the points they are awarded each month for their work at Gemm, to donate to this cause.  And Gemm Learning has agreed to match whatever our students donate, dollar for dollar.”

Tina Liberatore said “Donating to this cause at this time appealed to us, if only because New Zealand is at risk of being the world’s forgotten disaster after the huge earthquake and tsunami in Japan.”
